Plans are under way to host Master Klaas Barends from the Netherlands. Klaas will also be attending the USKMAF 38th Korean Martial Arts Seminars in Jackson, MS with Master Foucha and students.
Master Sehwan Ko will be joing Master Klaas for a trip to Texas in September as well!!!

Master Foucha spent the weekend with Dojunim Kimm, GM Serio and the World Hanmudo Association at the 2012 Spring Hanmudo Seminar. It was an excellent time with plenty of matt work and fellowship. Some exciting new techniques and review of core principles and philosophy was enjoyed by all. Picture on Facebook. Plans are starting to develop for a Hanmudo seminar in Houston later this year or early next year.

Master Foucha spent 3 days in Holland with GM Ko, Master Sehwan, GM Yang and Masters Klaas, Leon and others celebrating the 25th Anniversay of the Urk HKD club. It was a fun trip and great training. The fellowship and family atmosphere made this a truly special event.

After a banner 2011 we are looking forward to another exciting year at Sangmukwan Texas. In March we are headed to Jackson, MS. to visit our friends at the USKMAF. Master Foucha is headed to Baton Rouge to visit with Dr. Kimm and the World Hanmudo Association. Other exciting possibilities are seminars with SinMoo CM Godwin at Master Sharpe's dojang, World Hapkido Championships in Michigan in August. Starting planning now for our 2013 trip to Seoul to train with GM Ko at our HQ school.

The First Texas Hankido Seminars saw a great turn out on Saturday the 29th of October. People from all parts and arts of the U.S. had come to Spring to take part in this unique event.
During the four hour seminar a thorough introduction of what Hankido is about was given to the participants. Master Ko Baek-yong, together with his son and assistant Ko Sehwan, taught the main principles of Hankido and the four hours were over before we knew it.
April 29th - May 15th, 2011 Seoul, S. Korea
Master Foucha and Mr. Bruce Fowler traveled to Seoul, South Korea to train with Grandmaster Ko Baek Yong and Master Ko Sehwan. Master Foucha was promoted to 2nd Dan Hankido and Mr. Fowler was promoted to Red Belt Hankido by GM Ko, GM Yang and GM Hee Kwan Lee. Had a great weekend in Jackson with the USKMAF folks. Lots of fun and hard work. Mr. Fowler, 3rd Dan and Mr. McKee 1st Dan received their certificates from the USKMAF. Master Foucha presented those certificates in the presence of Dojunim He Young Kimm, founder Hanmudo, GM J.R. West, GM Rich Hodder and other senior masters. It was a great time.
November 2010
Returned a day early from the Fall Hanmudo Seminar in Baton Rouge, La. due to a family emergency. Had a great full day on Saturday training with Dr. Kimm and the fine martial artists at the Hanmudo Headquarters. Friday night had the pleasure of watching the Black Belt testing and the techniques and energy were outstanding. Mr. Zollie Guidry tested and attained the rank of 4th Dan and it was well deserved.
It is always a joy to be on the floor with a great martial artists like Dr. He Young Kimm. I've had the pleasure of knowing him and his family for over 30 years now and to have such a treasure in our own back yard is truly a gift.
September 2010
Spent the weekend in Jackson, MS with GM J.R. West and the USKMAF and had the privilege of witnessing the promotion of Master Jere Hilland to 7th Dan and Master Dexter Mangum to 6th Dan. It was an awesome weekend of techniques and friendship. Can't wait until the next one.

8/13/2010 - Returned from the 8th Triennial World Hapkido Championships in Battle Creek, Michigan. It was a great tournament and Jason Foucha won Bronze medals in Empty Hand Forms and Men's Free Sparring. Congratulations Jason!!!
We also had time to catch up with old friends from the U.S. and Korea like GM Kenneth MacKenzie, GM Scott Yates and had the wonderful honor of meeting Dojunim Ji, Han-Jae.
